If it wasn't for the rainy weather, we could have gone up to Swiss Alp by riding the cable. But instead, we took a little cruise around the huge lake. This is where my crazy roommate wondered around by herself and ended up at a police station. Even though the locals knew she was from a Contiki tour and put her into a cab directing the cab driver to our hotel, she never made it. She wondered around the street all soaked in rain until someone found her and took her to the police station where they strongly recommended our tour guide that he should take her to a hospital for a mental check up. Thankfully, Lucerne is a very safe city. There is less than 1% crime in this place and my roommate was lucky enough not to get mugged or even worse. Lucerne definitely is very beautiful and very clean. We were told that Swiss are very stern people with very rigid life style and personality. The whole country can be shut down within minutes if there is a threat. They have their own water source, which they export to other parts of Europe. Our tour guide said all the Swiss have nice watches and they all have some kind of knives or weapons under their bed just in case of any invasion or threat from other countries. I think he said that everyone goes through mandatory military training.
